I've said it before, and I'll say it again...
Plan for success, it's coming!
I remember when I was starting my business and I was so busy trying to figure out what I
needed to figure out in order to start. Here are a few tips:
- You start by starting
- There is no ONE perfect blueprint for success
- Plan for success
- You have to do the work
Other than that, there are a few things that you can do to that build a successful business.
1. Start with a Good Brain Dump
Get it all out of your head and onto the paper. Don’t worry about any of it, sentence structure,
grammar, research (that will come later), cost… none of that. Just get those ideas onto paper.
One of the best things a coach ever told me was, “Nothing’s real until it is, Jeaneen”. And that is
sooo true. So put those ideas on paper. All of them. Your grand ideas for your business, the
location, the clients. Here are a few questions to help you along.
2. Take a look Around
Check out the competition and see what they’re offering, how they are packaging it and who are
responding.. And take notes. It’s not that you want to steal ideas (not a good idea at all), but you
want to get a better feel for the industry. Start to identify their strengths and weaknesses (as
well as your own).
3. Establish Your Business as A Business from the Start
Start thinking about your business entity and business name. Research where you would need
to register your business and the costs associated.
4. Know what you need before you start
Write down one service that you would like to offer. And then write down every single thing that
comes to your mind about what you need to execute that service or product - all the tools
supplies. visualize your deliverable
Starting a business takes time, money, sweat equity, knowledge and wisdom. And I know it can
be overwhelming. You think you have to figure it all out BEFORE you start, meanwhile, you
don't even know what you actually NEED to start. I remember that feeling and so I’ve put
together a great new Online Course - Start Where You Are: Get What You Need - to help New
and aspiring online business owners navigate the journey.
In the first course, we will cover the bare essentials that you need to simply open your virtual
doors for business, communicate with clients and get paid! We will cover topics such as:
